Day 2

*TREKKING KILIMANJARO*

Day 2 | Lemosho Route | The 12-Hour Shuffling

Day 2 felt endless. By the time we finally rolled into camp, I had been on my feet, shuffling along the trail, for 12 straight hours. I was utterly spent—the kind of deep, bone-weary exhaustion where every movement takes deliberate effort.

Anyone who knows me knows I love food. But tonight? Chewing and swallowing felt like an absolute chore that my body completely rejected. Sensing how depleted I was, Leon and Mody essentially pleaded with me to eat, refusing to let me crawl into my sleeping bag until I took at least three bites of dinner. It was a brutal day, but reaching the expanse of Shira II at 12800 ft made it clear: the real climb has officially begun.
