White Mountain Peak Elevation: 14,252′
The day after we finished the High Sierra Trail, we met with some friends to hike White Mountain Peak 14251’. I've been wanting to hike this, but having the right vehicle to the trailhead has made it more challenging. A while back I made a post in the California 14er Facebook group, and my friend Sarah saw my post and suggested we hike it together for her birthday weekend as her first 14er.
We met with Sarah, Michael and Nick in Bishop and Nick drove his Suburu Crosstrek like a pro avoiding all the sharp rocks 😄
The hike was beautiful and it was lovely to catch up with friends from the Bay area. We enjoyed birthday brownies at the summit where I had baked them the night before, and sang happy birthday. After descending, we enjoyed a nice hike back and shared bunk beds in a room like we are back in college.
P.s. don't stash your water bottle by a large rock pile. You'll realize soon that they all look the same and you won't be able to find it back 😝
